I’d like to meet this woman and shake her hand! She helped bring H&M to Israel!
No, 30-year old Sandy Livak-Furmanski of Givatayim is not single-handedly responsible! But it sure did help. And she did receive a thank you letter of acknowledgement from the press department of the Swedish fashion chain.
Back in September 2008, Ynet reported that H&M had inked a franchise deal with Match Retail LTD to open stores in Israel in 2010. It’s about time!
I love H&M’s high-end look for low-end prices. Talk about cheap thrills!
Now how exactly did Sandy help? Well, thanks to a Facebook group! More than a year ago, Sandy created one called “Open an H&M Store in Israel!” which currently holds more than 11,000 members. What started as joke became reality as H&M took notice.
All I ask is please PLEASE bring on the Urban Outfitters!
