Israeli Fashion Events in the US

Yes, I know, this is a blog about fashion IN ISRAEL.  But I must say, I’m pretty impressed with the measures this country is going to in order to promote their clothing in the United States. Of course, most of us probably know about SoHo’s Sigal Dekel store and the Rosebud store in New York.  (For those that don’t know, Sigal Dekel is a major Israeli fashion designer with her own boutique on Dizengoff and lots of retail chains in malls all over the country, her clothes are slightly more expensive than the average mall shop, though.

Rosebud is a store, which brings in Israeli designer clothes from the likes of Ronen Chen and Keren Naftali for women as well as Israeli accessories, giftware, candles, bath products, art, and music and houses them in their SoHo shop for people to buy. )

Then I wrote that little ditty on Israeli designers being showcased at LA Fashion Week. That show, hosted by TK TK, with a smashing performance by Israeli electro pop group Terry Poison, was a big success.

But it hasn’t stopped there.  Now an Israeli native, Tali Kogan, living in Chicago, has introduced Tel Aviv Couture, a new and exciting company that represents talented and innovative Israeli designers.   Tali’s company has many a wine gathering and trunk show event, as well as a spacious showroom located in downtown Chicago.  She represents over 25 designers including our fave Inbal Gvili as well as Anna K, UGA, and Lia Brides.

This past Wednesday, Tel Aviv and TK Tizi Melloul had an evening of Israeli fashion, $3-$5 wine & champagne and $3-$5 Tel Aviv Tapas plates! They showed off new collections from Anya Fleet, Inbal Gvili, D and A, Hagar Satat, and Tamara with markdowns up to 30% off.

Prominent Israeli  and Sports Illustrated model Esti Ginzburg was among the girls who catwalked their way to Espace on West 42nd Street in NY last Wednesday for a large crowd that came to see three of Israel’s biggest fashion houses: Ronen Chen, Castro, and Lia Kes.

Over 1000 Jewish professionals were given the chance to come out for the event which included the following packages:

$36- online
$50- at the door
and a $500  VIP Package which meant:

Event entry for five
– Private meet and greet with Esti Ginzburg
– Lounge seating with prime runway viewing
– Bottle of premium vodka

Raffle prizes including a FREE TRIP TO ISRAEL, a TAHARI bag, and free tickets to the following upcoming events: FIDF Casion Night, AJC-ACCESS Fall Gala, Dor Chadash Chanukah Party, MJE Shabbat Dinner, JNF’s Garden of Eden were also included.
