Dana, The Manicure Maven

I love when the trendsetting people who live in this country spread a message internationally that Israelis really do know what they’re talking about when it comes to fashion and beauty.

Take Dana Eldad, a fashionista living in Jerusalem, who mixes international brands like Topshop with Israeli brands like Castro and is constantly upping the ante when it comes to trends.  (She loves bold choices like floral shorts and big platform shoes. And I might just have to get bangs in my hair after seeing her new awesome ‘do.)

Dana recently started blogging for Pink Memo, an online luxury fashion site and shopping guide, and doesn’t hesitate to point out that Israelis are style and beauty mavens.  In her first post, she highlights Chanel’s Jade nail polish (a great choice, Jade happens to be my favorite color in the entire world, no joke!) with this stand out first line, “Israeli style is all about standing out, and our nail polish choices are no exception.”
She notes that Israeli women are drafted between the ages of 18-20 and aren’t permitted to have colorful nail polish so when they break free, they stock up on statement shades.  Next on the Israeli must-have nail color list, according to Dana: edgy grays, deep purples, and rich chocolate hues.

I don’t know if Jade really is a trend–but if I was someone outside of the country, I would surely stand up and take notice.  This Israeli girl obviously knows what she’s talking about.

If you need reassurance, check out her beautiful white manicure, circa Chanel ’07, featured in one of her latest blog posts! It may be Chanel ’07, but the color is stylish and timeless and Dana knows it!
