‘Tis the season for Fashion Markets!
Fashionistas in Tel Aviv have barely taken a breath, with the T: Market happening just 2 weeks ago.
Now the Plastik Shuk has come back into town, and this one promises to be worth the wait!
In my last post on the Plastik Shuk, I told you about over 50 designers setting up shop in Tel Aviv’s Kibbutz B’Ir (Kibbutz in the City) to promote their latest designs. Designers like Hoki, Emy, doberman, and our favorite Rock or Die! came out to show off their latest pieces (jewelry, shoes, and stylish trends) amongst video art presentations, photography exhibits, concerts, DJs, and makeup artists.
This year, the Plastik Shuk showcases 50 young designers in a different location. Kibbutz B’Ir was a new spot for them, but now they’re back to an oldie, but a goodie–near the old Central Bus Station where they used to be–in a club called מסי” at 10 HaSharon St. in South Tel Aviv.
The Plastik Shuk began about 3 years ago as a place for young fashion designers who wanted to spread the word on their incredibly vibrant collections. It’s a unique, artsy, nonconforming, and non-commercial platform for them full of fresh designs and intriguing personal statements.
I got a sneak peek at a few of the designs showcasing at the Shuk and I must say, I’m going to have snap out my credit card FAST!
Can’t keep my eyes off these floral tanks from Bluma for just 169nis or the turquoise polka dot skirt with elastic waistband for 230nis!
Design label Alex has some beautiful long sheaths in pretty colors that make my mouth water!
And I’m totally grabbing Lill Amy’s lips necklace! It’s just so cute and fun!
Which one will make it on to my favorite designers list? You’ll have to tune in to find out!
In the mean time, the Plastik Shuk IS this weekend! On Friday, 4/16 from 11:00-18:00 and on Saturday, 4/17 from 11:00-19:00. Be there!
Spring has come again with the very latest from the uber-chic Plastik Shuk! Now you can’t say you don’t have anything to wear!
